
TOM STERLING

Tom Sterling is an actor, singer and brass musician whose career spans the West End, major UK tours, television, film, concert and cabaret. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (Beatrice Lillie Scholar), he is a versatile and highly musical performer with a particular affinity for musical theatre, drama and comedy.
Tom is currently to be seen as Sherwood Stratton and covering the role of P.T. Barnum to great critical acclaim in the UK No.1 tour of Barnum in 2026.

Tom is currently touring the UK in the No.1 Tour of Barnum, playing Sherwood Stratton and covering the title role of P.T. Barnum. He previously appeared in the production at the Watermill Theatre, with his performances as Barnum receiving considerable critical acclaim.
His theatre credits include the 30th Anniversary West End production of The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre; Carousel and My Fair Lady at Kilworth House Theatre; and the Original London Cast of Sir Trevor Nunn’s The Third Man at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Further credits include The Astonishing Times of Timothy Cratchit, Girlfriends and Jack & the Beanstalk, alongside workshop and development work with the National Theatre, Old Vic Theatre and Ambassador Theatre Group.
On screen, Tom plays Uncle Bernhard in the forthcoming Warner Bros./Fox/ESX feature film Wind of Change. His screen credits also include Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air and Netflix’s The Crown, as well as extensive voice and ADR work on films including Judy, Darkest Hour, Wonder Woman, The Lost City of Z and Denial.
Alongside his theatre and screen work, Tom is an established concert and cabaret performer. He has been an original company member of Sunday Afternoon at the Musicals at Pizza Express Live London since its inception in 2017, performed at the Salzburg Music Festival, toured Europe with The 12 Tenors and appeared extensively as a solo artist.
His solo cabarets include Where Are the Songs We Sung?, A Little Bit Eccentric and Vintage, with performances at venues including Crazy Coqs, The Pheasantry and Piano Smithfield. His cabaret work draws on the wit, sophistication and musical craftsmanship of songwriters including Noël Coward, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin.
A multi-instrumentalist, Tom plays trumpet, cornet, tenor horn and trombone, and also works as a composer and arranger. His credits include projects for West End Eurovision and West End Christmas for the MAD Trust, alongside original vocal works including Orpheus, commissioned for Cicely Berry CBE, and Come Away Death, inspired by Shakespeare’s poem of the same name.
Alongside his performing career, Tom teaches singing, specialising in classical musical theatre and cabaret repertoire. He also holds a BA (Hons) in German from King’s College London and is represented by BBA Management.
