Biography

Tom Sterling is an English actor, singer & brass musician. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (Beatrice Lillie Scholar), Tom has performed across the United Kingdom and Europe on stage, television and as a voice over artist.

Theatre includes: Cover Harry Lime in THE THIRD MAN (Original London  Cast) (Menier Chocolate Factory), Enoch Snow in CAROUSEL (Kilworth House Theatre), Passarino & Hairdresser/ Cover Ubaldo Piangi in THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (His Majesty's Theatre), Mr. Archibald in THE ASTONISHING TIMES OF TIMOTHY CRATCHIT (Hope Mill Theatre), Freddy Eynsford Hill in MY FAIR LADY (Kilworth House Theatre), Guy in GIRLFRIENDS (Union Theatre), and George in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (RCSSD).  Workshops include numerous projects for: The National Theatre, Old Vic Theatre and Ambassador Theatre Group

Television & Film include: MASTERS OF THE AIR (Apple TV) THE CROWN (Series 4) (Netflix) , NAZI MEGASTRUCTURES: Hitler's Megaships. ADR include: JUDY, DARKEST HOUR, OLD BOYS, WONDER WOMAN, THE LOST CITY OF Z, DENIAL, TESTAMENT TO YOUTH.

Concert PerformancesTHE 90TH SALZBURG MUSIC FESTIVAL (Grosses Festspielhaus & Felsenreitschule), THE 12 TENORS (European Tours 2012, 2014 & 2015).

Cabaret Performances: A Little Bit Eccentric - by Tom Sterling (Piano Smithfield), Together Again (The Pheasantry), Who's That? In Concert 1 & 2 (The Pheasantry). Since its inception in 2017, in addition to being an original cast member, Tom has been the most regularly featured performer in the "Sunday Afternoon at the Musicals" series by Pizza Express Live London.

Pantomimes include: The King in JACK & THE BEANSTALK (Floral Pavilion).

Having been a brass musician since a child, Tom has played with a variety of brass bands and orchestras. Instruments include Trumpet/ Cornet, Tenor Horn and Trombone.

In addition to performing, Tom is also a composer and arranger. Arrangements include The Phantom of the Opera's winning contribution to WEST END EUROVISION 2018, and various arrangements for WEST END CHRISTMAS for the MAD Trust. Compositions include: 'Orpheus' a vocal quartet commissioned for renowned vocal coach Cicely Berry; and 'Come Away Death' a vocal octet inspired by William Shakespeare's poem of the same name. He is currently working on his first musical THE SWEET SMELL OF INSANITY, due to be workshopped in Winter 2024.

Prior to his training, Tom read German at King's College, London, graduating with a BA (Hons) in 2011.
